Why is this so far in the future? Why not? I wanted a time that was so far into the future, the idea of Harry Potter would just be a folklore tale. His historical tale would go down into history as being "The boy who lived" pretty much.
I don't remember someone name "Erised" in HP? Well, think of it this way, it's similar to the Peverells. They wanted a way to master death and this woman named "Erised" wanted a way to forget about Death. I suppose if it was in the book, it would have said something along the lines of:
Death: What can I get for you? Erised: I don't ever want to know when Death it coming, I just want to be happy.
I'll say that this Hallow came from the Black Family, but was lost to the world and became Dumbledore's at some time.
No more Hogwarts? WTF? Well, after 2020 The Minister of Magic and "outed" the Wizarding World. Once the world was exposed to the muggles, the blood of wizards dwindled down to almost nothing. The only exception to this were purebloods were tutored their children. In year 3000, magic people are put in special classes and taught very BASIC magic and how to control it. This is an example of how much magic has dwindled.
What's the plot then? Lord Voldemort wants to kill of the muggles, get rid of the government and close off the Wizarding World for good. This might seem like a good idea to some, but some characters will like their new lives and might not like the idea of being secluded and hiding again.
How strict is the plot? Not very, it'll be mostly how everyone will live in 3000. How they react to magic being unimportant, how they feel towards needing muggle things. It's very relaxed. Things like TV shows, Music, Movies and everything media related is current to 2008 with the exception of technology. An example of it is the ability to use telekinesis(which is similar to doing the leviosa spell for witches.)
Explain what's different in Year 3000? Towns are ran by "Mother Computers", they are almost life-like beings who can think on their own and almost feel. Life spans of hundreds of years, with homegrown body parts and chips for brains. Abundant, clean energy from the sun and a safe, inexhaustible source of power in nuclear fusion. Women being grabbed and forced to birth men, most of their rights taken away from them. There is MUCH more men to women, for every one woman there is 30 men. This was caused by men in higher places forcing children to bare more children and killing off baby girls UNLESS they were needed. The men in the real world are hostile and for information of play, openly gay characters will be hunted down, not killed but beat profusely to lead them on the path of "righteousness" or something. The world in 2080, the melting of the polar ice caps has poured fresh water into the oceans and diluted the salt level, which has caused the temperature of the ocean currents to drop 13 degrees. The world's climate system changes for the worst. It became very cold in the upper hemisphere, allowing Earth to essentially fix its problem. The weather around the world in the upper hemisphere is generally much colder than it used to be. On Febuary 1, 2008 it's currently 20 degrees fahrenheit outside, it'd probably be more like 0 now.
Everything is more high-tech and the characters in the game are the only "genuine" humans there is. While they are all Wizards and Witches, they hold the ability of free will. Most have chips in their brains giving them MOSTLY free-will. Those coming back cannot be controlled by the government in anyway, that's why they want to find them and claim them to be "abusing" their powers and kill them.
How does the Mirror work on the veil? The Mirror shows the on-lookers deepest desire. The mirror tries to claim those who desire to be WITH their loved ones. By the act alone "fixes" the veil and allows the dead to pass through it. You could sort of call it like "Hell" to something like an "Underworld" in Greek Mythology. The Veil becomes hollow and dark and anyone can enter/exit it.
I see muggles on this list! MUGGLES WITH MAGIC!!!!!???? Settle....breatheeeeee it won't end you, seriously. I wanted those who have closely come in contact with magic to become magical themselves. They are called "Unsquibbed", they can use magic and be competent but can NEVER be a Dumbledore or Voldemort. They might HATE magic but they got it now and they'll have to cope, should be fun, eh?
And squibs? They be whatever blood they were suppose to be. Most squibs are purebloods, so I'd say purebloods.
What are the pureblood names now, which ones are purist? MacMillian, Malfoy, Nott. The rest are not purist, they only marry into pure Wizarding families because they LOVE the Wizarding World so much that they couldn't bare to let a muggle in. They don't hate muggles, they like them, just not enough to marry them ^^; Scamander, Weasley, Avery, Flint, Pucey, Crabbe, Finch-Fletchey, Smith, Boot and Corner.
I want to play So-and-So gay, but I'm not sure of their sexuality? Purebloods will have to be straight here, all canons sexuality take place in this game. Although their ship might not, their sexuality does. I allow slash here, just not with characters that were extremely important and are already in love with someone else. No shipping characters who just wouldn't work out in canon.
Where does everyone stay? Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Leaky Cauldron once Voldemort comes back he's going to try to find people to help him. I have a premade list of names here. Try to think of these characters as "Inner Circle" Death Eaters types. They cleared some of the grounds of Hogwarts, opened the school and Hogsmeade to the residents. Still unplottable to muggles.
Who are the bad guys? Voldemort AND the Muggles Government. The Government wants Wizards killed and Voldemort wants muggles and traitors killed, very screwed up.
How much does my character remember? Everything up until their dying moment on earth, they will come out of the veil believing they are dying again.
